How This Works
Active Ozone utilizes a proprietary one-to-two part treatment system to safely and effectively sanitize, disinfect, and remove unwanted odors from your home or business. Our treatment system effectively eliminates bacteria, virus, and unpleasant odors.
What is Ozone?
Ozone (also known as O3) is a gas that is made up of three oxygen atoms. It is the second most powerful oxidant in existence! Ozone is highly effective at breaking down bacteria, virus, and odor molecules. Following an ozone treatment, you’ll find that it leaves a fresh scent similar to that of the smell in the air following a thunderstorm (ozone levels are naturally elevated during storms – pretty cool right?).
Ozone is also both FDA and USDA approved for organic use.
How it works:
We use a powerful, commercial-grade ozone generator that creates a large amount of ozone in a short amount of time (i.e. a proper “shock” treatment). Ozone eliminates bacteria, virus, and unpleasant odors by breaking down their molecular structure through a process called lysis. What this means is the problem particle’s physical properties are permanently changed upon interacting with ozone, rendering them no longer toxic or able to reproduce. The final results of our Ozone Gas Shock treatment is O2 – which is simply pure, clean oxygen.
What are Nano-platelets?
Our Nano-platelets are microscopic platelets comprised of magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH2 NP). NP treatment adheres to surfaces in a treated space and leaves behind a long-lasting protective barrier. Mg(OH)2 is certified USDA for use as organic, GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe), and FDA approved for use in food products.
How it works:
NanoGuard FS utilizes leading-edge nano-platelet technology. We apply an extremely fine mist of nano-platelets (Mg(OH)2 NP) that adhere to surfaces within the treated space. After NanoGuard FS treatment is complete, treated surfaces are left with a long-lasting protective barrier. The protective barrier acts as an inhibitor which helps continue to protect your home or business even after we have finished treatment and before the next reapplication.

What to expect?
One of our trained Active Ozone technicians arrives on-site to treat your space. Treatment solution utilized (part one, part two, or both parts of our treatment system) is based off your treatment goals and objectives. Treatment required is based on the total cubic feet of your space, which our technician will determine for you.
Part 1) Ozone Gas Shock Treatment
Part 2) Apply NanoGuard FS
On average, total treatment time takes between 1-3 hours. During treatment, space must be vacant (i.e. no people or pets).
After part one of treatment, we air out your home or business by opening available doors and windows. Our trained technicians measure the ambient air to ensure air quality has returned to a safe level of 0.1ppm or less (within OSHA standards). Following part two of treatment, there is no downtime.
After we have completed our two-part treatment system, your home or business will be sanitized, disinfected, and odor-free.
